The amount (18,000 €) will be donate to the programs and services that the AECC of Marbella provides free of charge to cancer patients and their families.
It was held on 15th September, with the support of the Marbella City Council in the organization and safety of the tournament and the outstanding collaboration of the La Caixa Social Work, Cirumed Clinic and CLC World Resorchs & Hotels.
In the tournament, organized and sponsored by Santa María Golf Club, almost 100 players participated.
The local headquarters of AECC Marbella has received from Santa María Golf Club the 18,000 € raised in the charity tournament held for the benefit of AECC on September 15 with the participation of almost 100 players.

The provincial president of AECC Málaga, Francisco Aguilar, thanked the generosity of Santa María Golf Club and all its partners and highlighted their commitment in the fight against cancer.
“I want my first words of thanks to all the workers who are part of Santa María Golf Club for the love and dedication they have put into organizing this tournament. Of course, also to its partners, to the players who participated and to all the companies that collaborated with their generosity.

In the ceremony, in addition to Ali Saudi, CEO of Santa María Golf Club and Alfredo Ramiro Oregui, Director of the golf course, organizers and main sponsors of the tournament, Carlos Alcalá Belón, Deputy Mayor of the City of Marbella and, from AECC, Francisco Aguilar, provincial President of AECC Málaga, Pedro González, provincial Manager of AECC Málaga and Dr. Luisa Ronco, palliative care physician at the local headquarters of AECC in Marbella.

The local headquarters of AECC Marbella carries out information campaigns every year that mainly reach primary and secondary school youth; volunteers serve in hospitals and homes; Psychological care has been offered since 1996 to patients and relatives; the laryngectomized unit offers weekly voice rehabilitation sessions; the smoking unit has attended, with a 65% success rate, more than 1,700 people who wanted to quit smoking; and the palliative care unit, with almost 24 years of history, is a reference center on the Costa del Sol and throughout Spain.
It is made up of two doctors, a nurse, two psychologists and a social worker who care for patients and family members at the Costa del Sol Hospital and at home. All these services that the AECC provides in Marbella have been developing, since the beginning of September, in the new AECC Space located on Avenida del Mar nº5.
