Charity Golf Day for Brain Tumor Research and Cudeca

077

On September 9 SANTA MARIA was the scene of a new charity tournament, this time in favor of ‘Brain Tumor Research’ and Cudeca.

Gill Ballard and Margot Jann were in charge of the organization of the event, with the collaboration of many of our members and staff. The day achieved record revenues for such an event organized in Santa Maria, which totaled 17.583 € generated by green fees donated by SANTA MARIA, an auction, raffles and sponsors of the championship.

All participants were presented with gift bags and drinks on various holes during their round.
Our restaurant, H19, served a popular lunch in which we proceeded to the awards ceremony.
Gill addressed the hundred plus who were in attendance saying that could not have asked for a better day. “The ladies of Santa Maria have worked so hard to make it a success, I cannot thank them enough all the effort. Margot also has been like a rock to me through the seven months of preparation.”

Les McGlasson held a fantastic auction, raising an important figure in both the silent auction and the grand auction.
The food and efficiency of the staff in the restaurant was brilliant along with the great organisation of the golf staff in the morning.

Gill dedicated this day to the memory of her sister Sue who passed away in December 2015 and wanted to raise funds for medical research in this area. Also for the work of Cudeca and the amazing care they provide to patients with terminal illnesses.
