On October 25th, the presentation ceremony of the 25th Anniversary of Santa María Golf & Country Club was held. The event was attended by the mayor of Marbella, José Bernal; The president of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, Ángel de la Riva; The manager of Costa del Sol Tourism, Arturo Bernal; as well as local business men and real estate developers Ricardo Arranz, Cristóbal Peñarroya and the brothers Juan and Iñigo Orbaneja, among many others.

The CEO of Santa Maria Golf, Ali Saudi, made an emotional remembrance of these twenty-five years of the club, emphasizing the great effort that the investment partners have made in the hard times and highlighting the fact that this quarter of a century has accounted for one million rounds of golf, with peaks of up to 50,000 in busy months.

The mayor of Marbella, José Bernal, comemorated the spirit, hard work and effort that every company, and this club in particular, has shown over the years.
De la Riva, who was honored by the club for his long career in Andalusian golf, praised the work developed by Santa Maria Golf and especially Colin Mosely, one of the pioneers in the construction of the course and club director during many years.

Santa Maria Golf Club emerged with the dream of a small group of golfers and the search for a large enough piece of land for an 18-hole golf course in Marbella. In 1990 it began to become a reality. The group was headed by John Jenkins, editor, and Colin Mosely, engineer and designer with 25 years of management experience. The growth of the club came gradually over the years. Since the end of October 1991 there have been more than one million rounds played. It currently has 200 members, 30 of them with more than 25 years of loyalty to this very special golf course.

In the coming months there will be different activities and initiatives focused on celebrating this date with members, family and friends. The goal is to maintain an intense social agenda, with championships, meetings and exhibitions to keep alive the important anniversary celebration throughout the year.
